🗣️ About Me

My journey into applied linguistics began in high school when I discovered the degree during my final year. Languages had always been a passion of mine; I found joy in not only learning new words and phrases but also understanding the cultural nuances behind them. When I realized that this passion could translate into a meaningful career—one where I could use my language skills to help others and foster cross-cultural communication—it sparked a genuine enthusiasm for pursuing this path.

This excitement fueled my curiosity and set me on a journey of exploration, from studying translation and interpretation to learning about linguistics as a science. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate the profound impact that language has on multiple areas such as education, business, multimedia and even our own personal connections, which further motivates me to refine my skills and contribute to these fields.

August 1, 2023 - June 26, 2024

At International School of Monterrey (ISOM), I coordinated activities, supported group management, and quickly adapted to unexpected situations, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Fluent communication in English with both students and staff helped promote a bilingual environment that encouraged effective collaboration and learning.

• Video games localization workshop (october 2019): We explored the principles of translation specific to the video game industry, focusing on terminology, cultural adaptation, and preserving the original tone and style.
• “Reflecting about the teaching profession” workshop (April 2024): We discussed the evolving role of the English language teacher over the past two decades, the challenges of teaching today, the courage needed to adapt, and teaching as an art, focusing on engaging students and fostering meaningful learning experiences.
